The Maritime Room is perfect for pretty much any private celebration. We’ve hosted everything from elegant 50th birthday dinners to 21st celebrations, engagement parties, bridal showers and school balls. We also welcome reunions, cultural celebrations, charity galas, themed parties and post-conference socials. Whether it’s cocktail-style, a full banquet or a DJ-led dance party, we’ll shape the space and service around the kind of celebration you have in mind.

We can comfortably host anything from smaller gatherings to big blowouts. For large cocktail-style parties, we can accommodate up to around 400 guests using the full venue and deck. For seated dinners, plan on roughly 180–240 guests depending on layout. Medium groups of 80–150 work beautifully, and for 30–70 guests we’ll use clever partitioning and layout so the room feels intimate, not oversized.

Yes – we handle both catering and bar service in-house, so hosting is much easier for you. Menu options range from continuous canapés and substantial bites for casual cocktail parties through to buffets or plated dinners for more formal occasions. We can also add fun food stations or late-night snacks. Our fully licensed bar offers everything from beers and wines to themed cocktails and mocktails, all served by experienced bar and waitstaff.

Absolutely. The Maritime Room is made for parties with music and dancing. We have a built-in night club level sound system suitable for DJs, playlists and live bands, and we’ll set aside a designated dance floor area once formalities or dinner are done. Lighting can be adjusted to give more of a party feel, and we’re used to everything from 21st dance floors to cultural performances, so we’ll work with you and your entertainers to get it just right.

When you book The Maritime Room, a lot is already included. We provide tables, chairs, cocktail leaners, lounge furniture and basic linens, along with elegant place settings for any sit-down component. You’ll have access to microphones, speakers, a projector and screen for speeches, slideshows or videos, plus event lighting to set the mood and define a dance floor. Cake and gift tables, plants and existing décor help create a stylish starting point, and you’re welcome to add your own touches.

Booking is straightforward. Get in touch via our website, email or phone with your preferred date, approximate guest numbers and the type of party you’re planning. We’ll confirm availability, talk you through options and provide a proposal. Once you’re happy, we’ll send a booking agreement and take a deposit to lock in the date. From there, we’ll guide you through menu choices, layouts and timings so that on the day you can simply arrive and enjoy the party.
