Yes, The Maritime Room works really well for business seminars, training days and workshops in Auckland. It strikes a nice balance between professional and relaxed, which is great for learning and sharing ideas. Whether you’re running a half-day seminar, an evening talk or a multi-day workshop, the space adapts to your format – from blackout presentations through to bright, harbour-view breaks that reset the room and keep people engaged.

We can host seminars of almost any size, from small, focused groups to larger audience-style sessions. Our flexible, pillarless space can be set for intimate workshops of 10–30, mid-sized seminars of 50–100, or big presentations with a few hundred attendees. As a guide, we seat around 240 in theatre style, and 100–150 comfortably in classroom or cabaret layouts, with plenty of room for concurrent breakouts if you need them.

You’ll have full AV support for your seminar. The venue is equipped with quality projectors and large screens, a clear sound system and a choice of handheld, lapel or lectern microphones. We can dim lights for presentations and bring them back up for Q\&A or discussion. Our tech team handles setup and troubleshooting, and we can provide extras like clickers or session recording if you’d like.

Yes – and we know how important that is for a good seminar. Our in-house catering team can build a menu around your schedule: coffee and tea on arrival, mid-morning breaks with light snacks, and lunch for longer sessions – anything from gourmet sandwiches and salads to a hot buffet. Afternoon sessions can include another coffee break and sweet treats. We cater for dietary needs and keep menus satisfying but not too heavy, so people stay focused.

Absolutely. Flexible layouts are one of our strengths. If your seminar includes breakout discussions, interactive exercises or rotating stations, we’ll set the room to match – think clusters of tables, small-group zones and clearly defined areas for each activity. We can also use adjacent spaces or partitions to create quieter breakout rooms. Afterwards, it’s easy to bring everyone back together by opening the space up again and resetting seating.
